Care and Maintenance
- Before using the grill for the first time, wipe the inside of the lid, bowl, cooking grate and charcoal grate with a clean cloth.
- Apply a coat of oil on the cooking grate before grilling to ensure that the food does not stick to the grate.
- Once you are done with grilling, douse the hot charcoal if necessary by spraying water.
- Collect the ash and use it for trees and plants as it makes for excellent manure.
- While the grill is slightly warm, remove the cooking and charcoal grate and soak it in regular soapy water for 30 minutes.
- If it’s not possible to soak the bowl and lid, cover them with multiple layers of paper or a layer of cloth soaked in soapy water.
- Once it is well soaked, use our Handy-man all purpose cleaner to scrape and clean the cooking and charcoal crate off food, crease and other debris. Wipe the soaked bowl, lid and crates clean with a dry cloth.
- Once dry, apply a coat of oil on inside of the bowl, lid and the grates before resting it. This prevents further rusting.
- Following the above steps before and after every use to ensure the durability of your grills!
